Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
Dr. Shriniket Sawarkar (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you visit www.drshriniketsawarkar.com and when you contact our practice. It is written with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name and phone number, and your email address if you email us.
- Health information — details of your condition, reports and scans you choose to share with us for a consultation or second opinion.
- Communication records — calls, emails and WhatsApp messages with our practice.
- Appointment details — dates, clinics and scheduling information.
The enquiry forms on this website do not store anything. When you submit a form, your browser opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. Nothing is sent to or saved on our website’s servers; the message reaches us only if you choose to send it in WhatsApp.
Information collected automatically
- Website analytics (only with your consent) — Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you click Accept on the cookie notice. If you accept, it records pages visited, time on page, device and browser type, approximate location (city/region), how you arrived, and whether you tapped a call, WhatsApp or email link or submitted an enquiry form. It never receives what you type into a form — your name, phone number, condition or message.
- Hosting and security — our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and basic request logs to deliver the site securely and protect it from abuse.
How we use your information
- To provide consultations, second opinions, surgical care and follow-up.
- To schedule and confirm appointments.
- To respond to your enquiries and send you information you ask for.
- To understand and improve how the website helps patients (analytics, with consent).
- To meet legal and medical record-keeping obligations.
- To keep the website secure.
Medical confidentiality
Health information you share is treated as a confidential medical record and protected in line with Indian law and medical ethics. Please share reports only through channels you are comfortable with — phone, WhatsApp, email or in person.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- with other healthcare providers involved in your care, with your consent;
- with laboratories and imaging centres for your tests;
- when required by law, court order or a government authority;
- in a medical emergency, to protect your vital interests or the safety of others;
- with the hospital where your procedure is performed, and with your insurer or TPA when you ask us to help with a claim;
- with service providers who run the website (Cloudflare; Google Analytics, if you consent).
Messages and reports you send us by WhatsApp or email are stored by those services (Meta and Google) as well as on our devices. If you prefer, bring reports to your consultation instead.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics — Google’s privacy policy. You can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Cloudflare — Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- WhatsApp — messages you send us on WhatsApp are handled under WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
Cookies and your consent
We only use analytics cookies if you click Accept on the cookie notice. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s storage for this site. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the website footer, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limited access to personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- correct, complete or update inaccurate information;
- erase personal information we no longer need to keep (medical records we are legally required to retain are kept for the required period);
- provide copies of your medical records as permitted by law;
- stop non-essential communication;
- withdraw consent you have given (for example, for analytics) — as easily as you gave it;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
Grievances
If you have a concern about how your personal information is handled, contact Dr. Shriniket Sawarkar using the details below — he is responsible for data protection at the practice. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is not intended for children under 18. Parents or guardians should contact us on behalf of a child patient.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or longer where the law requires. Medical records are kept in line with Indian medical record-keeping regulations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
